It began with a love to teach,
and grew into a brand that wraps people in joy
FROM SCISSORS TO STITCHES, THE STORY BEHIND LIL AND THE PICKLE
What began as a mission of giving became a journey of creating. I travelled to India with Hairdressers Without Borders, a non profit devoted to empowering vulnerable communities by teaching the craft of hairdressing. we have visited may countries making changes to peoples lives that you could only dream of, we provided everything they need to start a career in hairdressing which allows them to support their families,
Rajasthan was where it all started. Amid the vibrant chaos and soulful colours, I fell in love with textiles. Everything was hand crafted. Every thread told a story. I brought a few jackets home, thinking little of it , until people started stopping me, asking, “where did you get that?”
On my next trip, between teaching sessions and local chai breaks, I returned to the same artisan family and asked if they’d make a few jackets for my friends and their children. They did - with warmth, joy, and exquisite craftmanship.
That spark grew into a flame when I met Jatin, who runs a family business rooted in traditional Indian methods and breath taking fabrics. Together we built something real. I design the styles, Jatin brings them to life by hand one stitch, one story at a time.
What matters most to me isn’t just the quality (though that’s always impeccable). It’s knowing who is behind every piece. Beautiful people, beautiful work, and an exchange for trust, respect, and soul.
